Developing Visions
When asked to describe the benefits of a career as a developer, Tom Wenrick replied, “I feel fortunate for the visionary benefits I enjoy as a Developer and being able to turn the visions into enjoyable neighborhoods for many others.”
He went on to say, “The first reward comes when you are tromping through rough woods or gaze across a tract of hills and valleys and the vision starts becoming clear. This is when you see how the untamed landscape can be sculpted and molded into a warm, peacefull neighborhood.”
“It is a few years later,” he said, “when the greater reward comes. After I have done my work and the architects, builders, decorators and landscapers have completed all the homes. Then driving through this neighborhood and seeing families coming and going, comfortable and content, waving to neighbors and enjoying all that surround them an unbelievable rush flows over me &mdash and I am grateful that developing visions which others enjoy is what I do for a living.”
It has been often said, “The Highest Recognition is…Recognition by One’s Peers.” By this standard Tom Wenrick has been elevated to the top to the mountain of personal and profession respect. His peers in greater Tulsa have elected him to every senior office in the Tulsa Home Builders Association, including Presidency and “Builder of the Year.”
The Homebuilders and Developers throughout the State of Oklahoma elected Tom to President of the Oklahoma State Home Builders Association, for mid-2002 to mid-2003. Additionally he received the Highest Distinctive Recognition and Award from this state-wide group, “Builder of the Year” for 2003, State of Oklahoma.
